It might be a stretch to call rubber duckies preternatural although there is certainly something magical about them at bathtime for millions of youngsters. On Sunday, 5 June, 2011 it will the be the rubber duckies stretching, however as Cozi, the online and mobile calendar folks, try to set the world record for the longest line of rubber ducks. All in the name of helping families get all their ducks in a row.
Imagine 18,103 little yellow rubber ducks stretching an entire mile along Kite Hill in Seattle’s Magnusson Park, overlooking beautiful Lake Washington. No word on how many of the little fellas might decide to take a dip after the certified Guinness World Record adjudicator quacks out the history-making achievement (sometime around 1 p.m. Pacific time).
“Too many families are playing duck, duck, goose with their schedules,” Cozi CEO Robbie Cape says. “We’re removing the geese from the equation and getting Cozi ducks in a row…literally. This is a cheerful expression of what families do every single day with Cozi and we get to make ducky history in the process.”
The public is encouraged to attend the event and bring their own ducklings of all ages to witness rubber duck history in the making. Rain or shine — but no down jackets, please!
