If you missed out on getting tickets to Comic-Con in San Diego, CA this year, don’t despair. There’s still a chance you (and a friend) could be there, as VIPs no less.
Last night, 24 June, 2011, DreamWorks Studios launched The Fright Night Feeding Frenzy. The social media campaign is intended to build buzz for the upcoming release of the film Fright Night. As part of The Fright Night Feeding Frenzy, fans are encouraged to use their social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc.) to share movie content and check in to real world events in order to collect points. Prizes will be awarded each week beginning 1 July and continuing through the Fright Night premiere on 19 August, 2011.
Among the prizes up for grabs is a VIP trip for two to San Diego Comic Con in partnership with Yahoo! Movies. The trip includes travel, accommodations and admittance to all scheduled Fright Night events.
Comic Con is hosting a special insider look at the 3D reimagining of the classic 1985 horror film Fright Night. On Friday, 22 July, a panel including Jerry Dandridge (Colin Farrell), Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin), ‘Evil’ Ed Thompson (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and Amy Peterson (Imogen Poots) as well as Fright Night director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Marti Noxon will be talking about the film and the challenges of remaking a cult classic. (Sadly, it doesn’t sound as though the vampire hunter Peter Vincent (Dr. Who David Tennant) will not be attending Comic Con this year.) Other activities include a fan appreciation party and an advance screening.
