Men in Black are coming back…with merchandise

On 26 July, 2011, U.S. toymaker JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced a worldwide master toy licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumers Products, Inc. to manufacture, distribute and market a line of toys and products based on the 3D action comedy film Men in Black 3 . The agreement, which covers the Men in Black franchise, includes action figures, accessories, playsets, role play, youth electronics, novelties, games and puzzles, Halloween costumes and more. JAKKS anticipates launching the Men in Black 3 product line in the Spring of 2012 to coincide with the film’s 25 May, 2012 worldwide release.

Men in Black 3 is directed by Barry Sonnerfeld (who also directed the two previous Men in Black films, as well as The Addams Family and Addams Family Values) based on a screenplay written by Etan Cohen and based on the Malibu Comic by Lowell Cunningham. The film stars Agent J (Will Smith in his first big screen appearance since 2008’s Seven Pounds), Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones who is also Colonel Chester Phillips in Captain America: First Avenger), Zed (Rip Torn) and Andy Warhol (Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader). Steven Spielberg and G. Mac Brown are executive producers and produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. Men in Black 3 is currently in post-production.
