It seems that more viewers who tuned into the the premiere episode of Doctor Who Season 8 stuck around to watch the entire episode than any other show airing on cable that week. The Doctor Who premiere also had a higher stickiness index, according to Rentrak, Inc. than the stickiest shows on broadcast TV during the same period.
The Season 8 premiere episode of Doctor Who may have been the most engaging show of the the, however, it didn’t garner the most attention on social media. That honor went to the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards show. Interestingly the MTV awards show, which aired the day after the Doctor Who premiere ranked fifth on the Stickiness Index for Cable shows indicating that fewer viewers who did tune in to the broadcast kept watching until the end credits rolled.
